ST:TNG Borg diverter setting

The Borg diverter was completely jamed. I've freed it up but now the ball goes up the delta ram, the diverter kicks in and holds the ball momenterally till it kicks back.
I'm guessing this is wrong and it should just divert the ball down the habit rail.
Which is correct?

It should divert and send it down the wire form unless lock is lit then it should go directly in to the Borg ship probably needs adjusting

The diverter should be extended ready to send a ball down the wireform however fast the ball is moving, so I'd check the switch showing that it's approaching, 'Ramp Enter' or similar. Steve Ritchie's earlier Rollergames was an awkward one in this respect, sometimes the diverter would operate too late, flipping the ball back down the ramp (which I don't think was intended).

The Borg ship lock points up the delta ramp, AIR. The switch 'Borg Lock' inside the ship was a frequent 'false error' on Star Trek Next Gen.

No, hold on, it's the green lamp on that plastic sign above the ramp.
