Spiderman sr3 coin mech probs (still)

Ok, got a brand new coin mech from pinball heaven- plugged in with machine turned off, turn on, set table to UK coins- mech doesn't register any coins, not even in switch test mode, previous coin mechs I tried which were wrong at least showed up in switch edge test- any ideas, beginning to pull hair out over this
