I’m slimming down my arcade so looking to move a few things on.
First up is my much loved Sega Rally 2 twin sit down arcade. Had this for many many years and have done quite a bit of work on it.
Pros
- Cab is in great shape, I stripped it down a years ago and re-sprayed, new side decals, replaced cracked plastics with replacements, replaced all speakers, and seats restored including the back bars and yellow restraining strips which didn’t survive on lots of cabs. Topper is also a good example.
- Mechanics all fully working working with force feedback on both sides, gears, lights all as they should.
- all chips reporting as good.
Cons
- Full disclosure I fired it up this morning and player 2 had a graphics glitch, I banged on the seat (the simple fixes are the best) and it went away, but I’d say there is a loose connection or could be a cracked solder joint - I had a quick look and couldn’t replicate but there’s something that will need investigating there, player 2 has always been the weaker side of the twin.
- monitors are the original crt (that could be a plus to some people!), working fine but I’d say player 1 is much brighter and has better levels than player 2.
