I've got a work colleague who's doing a casino themed new years party and approached me asking if they can rent one (asked me first, I don't have any) but I wondered if anyone here has one they'd be willing to loan out for new years? It would need to get to Crick in Northamptonshire. Not sure if they'd be able to collect (distance depending I'd guess) but something can probably be worked out.

Anyone got one they'd be willing to loan?

You could get one at around £100 off eBay for the night then sell it on after.
Deal or no deals go cheap.
I’m not sure some would want there loved machines in the middle of a New Years party 🎉

Slot machine, or fruit machine? Slot machines are more Vegas-ish, with lots of chrome and sometimes even a pull handle, but usually a simply play style. They will cost more.

Fruit machines, especially the modern crap ones, have features and are ten a penny on FB groups - £100 to buy.

I have some simple fruit machines, about 20+ yrs old, which are a sort of a Vegas style, but I’m up north and can’t transport.

Will it get played?
will they expect it to have a cash float?
Will they expect to keep their winnings?

If its in a private house there are legal implications on running it on cash .
id consider lending a £5 jackpot game as not hard core gambling but after transport it would be cheaper for them to buy a cheap one.

Hi all,

Thanks for the advice - not knowing about these things I wasn't sure what the rules surrounding them were.

To answer questions, yes it would get played, they'd probably put their own money in and I suppose guests would want to keep their winnings. I can't see it sitting there just as a display piece for the party.

I think what I'll do is go back to them and say it's more advisable to buy a cheap one! Seeing as a few people have suggested this.

Appreciate the advice all.

Thanks for the advice mate but I think they're after a Vegas style one armed bandit rather than a pub fruit machine.

Yeah, they typically hold about £125 in the coin hopper when floated up, a bit less for older games (roughly prior to mid 90’s) with coin tubes. My machines tend to be set on the generous side (90%) and I often screw with them by not collecting the wins they offer, seeing as it’s a piggy bank not a real ‘trying to win’ scenario.

(Forgive the odd formatting above)
