Following the success of last year’s debut show, Northern Lights will return to the Norbreck Castle Exhibition Centre in Blackpool on the 5/6 November 201. The final weekend of the famous Illuminations.

Like last year this year’s event will take place in an expanded venue as part of Replay meaning visitors will have access to even more pinball tables, arcade machines, consoles and home computers than last year.

In keeping with last years event there will be an emphasis on families as well as hard-core gamers. There is something for everyone, young and old, no matter what your pinball skills everyone can play for free with over 50 machines anticipated to be available throughout the weekend.

We are pleased that Electrocoin, one of the largest gaming machine resellers in the UK, have said they will attend which means the latest pins will be available at the show to play.

We are also in negotiation with other companies and potential sponsors. More details will be announced as things are confirmed.

I'llk be there this year for sure. I went to r3play for the video game thing they held there in nov last year. Ended up just playing pins the whole time.....Cant wait.

Looks like we should have over 50 pinball machines this year so a lot bigger than last year.

If you can surport the event by bringing a machine or two then get in touch via the web site. If you can bring a machine you will get free entry over the weekend, If you can't bring a machine then you can buy tickets from the web site. There is a reduced price for the pinball comunity so make sure you buy from http://www.ukpinball.com/ That way you will get the discounted tickets.

If you have any questions about the event then just get in touch either via the web site or you can send me a mail.

Nice piece in the Metro - thats kicked machine prices up another 10% with the "Lucrative second hand games market" mention there!!

Rather good tho, since it answered a question i was only thinking last week when i was in London - Whatever DID happen to funland in the tracadero??!! All the machines were still in there, it was just the escalator up was missing.

Would love to be in on the big "sale" of all the machines when they all go

Right its looking more like 70 machines will be on free play at the biggest pinball event ever held in the north of england. Is going to be a great show with all the pins as well as the arcade side of things.

If you have pledged a machine or machines thank you. If you can't pledge a machine but would like to come to the show there are tickets on sale on the site, with the added bonus of entry to the closed doors event on the Sat evening. Only by buying from the Northern Lights site can you get this special offer. Check out the site at http://www.ukpinball.com/ and start looking forward to a great event in November.

Watch this space for more info on the show.

What's happening at the closed door event on Saturday?

After all the genral public have been turfed out at closing time we reopen and turn back on all the machines. This is usually for the staff/crew who didn't get chance to play during the daytime. But this year its open to both the pinball comunity as well as the staff/crew.

Plus to top it all its Poibugs 40th birthday so a bit of a **** up as well. Not yet sure what time the bar is open to but we can allways get around that.

So if you can't get enough pinball playing done during the day time ,this is the ticket for you.

So to sum it up , No where near as many people, Pinball, Beer, Pizza. What else do you need ?????????

yep, makes a change something up north a little closer for the Scotish lads anyway.

On the Saturday night the event shuts down completly at 7, we switch the machines off, grab a bite to eat and reopen the doors at 8 to the pinball community, this late night session is only open to ticket holders or people who contribute pins and tickets are very limited, If you buy a Replay ticket from our site (www.ukpinball.com or pm me or Replicas with what you want we will send you a paypal invoice or you can send us a cheque) you automaticaly get a ticket for the Saturday night event.

We are lining up several fun comps for the Saturday night one of which will be PIN Golf with around 70 pins to choose from it should be great.

The emphasis of the whole weekend is Fun.

We recommend fancy dress for the Saturday night, preferably yellow hat and pony tail wig.

For those who didnt go last year theres an off licence and chippy right across the road from the event door, The bar in the hall wont be open in the evening but Ive been informed that the one in the conservatory will be open until at leat 12.

It promises to be one hell of a weekend, If your coming get them tickets soon as the Saturday night session ones are running low, oh and consider booking Monday off work.

We will soon be releasing details of the Satuday day time comp which is something that we dont believe has been done in the UK before.

Can I just say,The show is being held to the North of Blackpool and has nothing at all to do with Pinball Paradise. They have NOTHING to do with the show and will NOT be attending.

They may trade out of Blackpool but the show has in no way anything to do with this company and never will.

Thanks.

I seem to have lost the contact details of a couple of people who pledged pins for the NLP at the UK Party..

One I can remember is Nigel speaking to someone from Wigan who offered us some pins.

If you pledged some down there and we havent got back to you or you would like to pledge anything please drop me a line at

northernlights@ukpinball.com

or

sparemail1@ntlworld.com

Anyone binging a pin gets a free weekend family pass and also exclusive entry to the late night Saturday session which is also Poibugs 40th.

Sorry theres not been a site update with new pin list but our web guys away until early September.

Check out

www.ukpinball.com

For details.

We hope to release details of our first fun comp very soon.

Hi Guys

As promised were announcing our first fun comp.

Some of you would have seen the NBAs linked at the party and im sure you will agree it makes it an entirely different and fun game to play.

Our first comp is a follows.

The comp will run on the Saturday from 12, Each entry will cost five pounds per person, only one entry per person.

For your five pounds you will be allocated a basketball team from the NBA game plus some others to make numbers of teams up.

We will then have a basketball league consisting of Leagues 1 to whatever, each team in a league will play each other once,

The winning team gets two points, a draw earns both teams 1 point each.

This will mean that each player is guaranteed a minimal set of games.

The team at the top of each league (plus possibly high scoring teams depending on number of entries)will go through to the next round which will be the knockout stages.

If two teams have the same points in a league they will play one game against each other to determine who goes through.

In the knockout stages teams will be put against each other in a sudden death match.

the winners of each stage will go through to the next until a winner and runner up is decided, then the two loosing teams from the semis will play each other to decide who comes third and fourth.

The prizes are being provided by Andy Netherwood of Pinball Mania and will consist of a fun trophy for the over all winner plus Gold, Silver and Bronze medals for 1st, 2nd and third.

There will also be a cash prize the value of which will be decided when the enty list is fun.

We are running this as if it was real basketball teams playing and you will be allocated your teams in advance, so if you want to bring a few supporters with your teams colours on you more than welcome.

We do not think this has been done in this form before but it sure looks fun.

We have a limited number of places and will be opening the entry list through the website www.ukpinball.com on Monday the 12th September.

Entry payment by PayPal.

We will also be announcing the comp on other sites and forums so get in there early guys.

Looking forward to this linked NBAFB comp. Never done before in the U.K.
