LED Strip - Power supply

Know it’s in the wrong section but really need a answer fast

Bought strip LED lights,
Thought the would have a power supply, but nope

They are 12v DC.
I have an old Laptop charger that I can switch to 14-17v DC.. will this work, or blow the light adapter?

Some of these Chinese LED drivers are pretty crapply made Dave so I wouldn’t risk it. You should be able to get a PSU from maplin for a tenner.
