On the Friday night at Pinfest, we are having a ladies only night from 7.30pm in the room next to the bar :) in the foyer of the hotel. This will be a social event for a chance to meet other women who enjoy playing pinball or to have a try at pinball in a friendly ladies only space ( without getting shouted at to hit the flashing lights :))
The competition is called Max Matchplay which allows you to play lots of 2 player games plus time to have a chat and meet others in between games. Wine and nibbles will be provided and your hosts will be Diane Bush, Vicki Molloy, Claire Lickman, Traci Edgar and myself ( so you all will know at least one of us). While we hope this will be a fun event, Claire has managed to get the comp IFPA approved and there will be world ranking points to be gained and a trophy but also hopefully a few new friends and a few more laughter lines gained too.
We will publish the format soon but in the first place , you can register your interest here as well as be encouraged on the night itself. You may remember last year we under estimated the turnout and plan to be prepared this time!
More info will be published but hope to see you on the night and don't worry, we will be out for STALLBALL as Phil shouts STALL, we shout BALL.

The format as below but don’t be put off with the rules etc - this competition style is fast and fun and a lot of luck 😀
This year at Pinfest the Ladies Night will be a Max Matchplay event .
Qualifying will start at 7.30pm - on the Friday night - please arrive a little early for briefing, nibbles and drinks.

Max Matchplay format will allow you to play lots of 2 player games with others. You will play up to 14 games or for up to 1.5 hours. Everyone will play the same number of games. We will have a choice of 10 pins, with 8 games at one time. This means you will have plenty of time for chatting and meeting others while you wait for your game.

The finals will then be held at approx 10.30pm (after the Stall Ball event) for the top 8 players. We will hold a 1 game quarter final for qualifying players 5,6, 7 and 8, with the top 2 going through to a 1 game semi-final alongside qualifying players 3 and 4, with the top 2 players going through to the finals. The 3 game finals will then include qualifying players 1 and 2, scored at 4-2-1-0.
Trophy and IFPA points to be won

Brilliant news! Courtesy of Retro Arcade Specialists we have some prize money for the winner of the ladies competition. As well as a magnificent trophy, IFPA points and pure kudos for the weekend, Dave has donated £100 for the winner. Thanks Dave. Very much appreciated:)
For all other participants ( or losers :) ) we still have IFPA points, vodka shots and wine and some very rude prizes :)

Looking for some of the lovely pin donators to agree to let us ladies use their pins for the ladies comp on the Friday night in the wee room beside the bar. We need about 8-10 pins but also they will be used for the UK league finals on the Saturday and then open to all pinheads. Who ever agrees will get a nice big bit of tablet and I will polish up their machine :) :)
