Can anyone help me understand the logistics of importing a second hand game from the EU post Brexit? I don’t have a particular game in mind, but I occasionally browse flippermarkt (got my Tron LE from a guy in Germany many years back) and it had me wondering.
I assume if a machine was shipped over on a pallet we’d be faced with a 20% import VAT fee on its declared value - but what would happen if I drove over to collect one?
I assume they’d notice a pinball machine in the back of the car or van going through customs before getting on the Eurotunnel, but how would they know the value of the machine / what to charge? Could you argue that you’d taken it over with you to a pinball show? What about if you were doing a trade and were taking one machine over and coming back with another?
It’s all very confusing and would be good to know for the future. May no longer be viable which would be a shame.
