Data East Star wars blanking LED on CPU board off (intermittent)

After moving my data east to another loation (by car) I'm starting to have issues at start up. Sometimes it starts and plays fine and sometimes it doesn't start and the blanking LED is off on the CPU board.

After retrying a couple of times it might or might not start... and if not maybe next day it starts.... all very random.

Couple of times it started when I push the green menu button when turning pinball on... might be luck (have to retry bit more as I don't understand link between the 2)

I have a DMM but no probe and have downloaded and made the Leon B test rom.

Any suggestions or help is very welcome !! Thx

Does your PIA LED light?

I had a similar issue and it was traced to the 6821 at 11B on the MPU board. It's socketed on my board so a reseat resolved and it's been fine for 2 months since.
