Congo shotgun?

just opened up my wpc95 Congo to have a go at fitting a Nvram battery eliminator chip and noticed this diode going from U21.
Is this factory or has a shotgun repair been carried out?
The board looks very clean and unmolested so am thinking factory.

Took a bit longer to complete as my soldering station went on the blink.
Nvram installed and all working. No more battery issues for this pin. Taf and afm next.
