bally periodic sound loss

As title really - my balck rose plays and the sound is fine then it loses sound until the ball goes out of play then - reboots ? any ideas - ill start with ribbons and connections , could it be a bad speaker ? etc

Got a similar issue on my Funhouse. Volume comes and goes, from mute to frickin loud. I was just gonna send it off for repair. Guessing bad caps.
