Never really understood bidding on an auction before the last couple of seconds. Few and far between are the ones I've bid on and forgotten about.

I hate the whole notion of waiting until the last few seconds. not least cos I forget. I sometimes chuck a bid on and hope ebay reminds me at (or near) the end
