Saw this and thought I would share…

Let me teach you the language of my people.

"Untested" = Doesn't work

"Just needs a little work" = money pit

"For Parts" = save me the trip to the dump, please

"A little screen burn" = permanent, superimposed title screen

"Just needs a PCB" = I have a plywood box I want to sell at full game value

"Worked last time I used it" = Haven't turned it on since 1986 and I'm afraid if I do something will break.

"Like new / sat in storage" = catastrophic failure early in it's life

"Slight warping" = basement flood

"Only missing a..." = Part no longer exists or is outrageously expensive

"Could be a simple fix" = tried to fix it myself and made it worse

"I know what I got / firm / no low-ballers" = I paid too much and trying to make my money back

"Valued at..." = I use eBay for my prices

"All original" = needs complete component-level refurbishing.

"Rare" = Inflated price on an unpopular/defective model.

"Collection of (PCB's, Parts, etc)" = I'm done cannibalizing what I can out of these - the rest is crap.

"As-is" - There's something I'm not telling you.

This is what I meant when I said it's similar to the classic car circle I'm used to. 😄

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Great guide for people.

Think one missed

Home use only (pre 2003-2005 machines) -

Hammered at an operators site and now in my house for x amount of year's

It’s a shame people just can’t be honest, a few of us have a list of people with dick head in front of their name!
Karma!
Unfortunately not, although there a fair few on here who are honest 😃

When profit involved description vagueness kicks in (for some)

"Untested" = Doesn't work
I admit to selling two of these. They were analogue film cameras belonging to my dad. Less 'doesn't work' than 'I have no idea how to check if this actually takes photos as I found it in a cupboard'.

"Like new / sat in storage" = catastrophic failure early in it's life
I also sold one of these. It was an enlarger for darkroom photography. My dad had bought just before I was born, at great cost, and then, incredibly... never used it. Literally, he never connected a plug. It sat there, unused, for 40 years until I sold it sans plug to a darkroom enthusiast. And, no, I had no idea how to test it either.

I did provide lengthy descriptions of what I had managed to do/test after the keywords in the title... The honesty has, so far, led to positive reviews on eBay and no comebacks.

"Rare" = Inflated price on an unpopular/defective model.

OK anyone got a BBB , ive 5k in my pocket as obviously its a stinker

rarity often based on circumstance / timing . they made far more six million dollar man that medieval madness so which is the unpopular model?

The cursed word you see in a lot of arcade cab adverts is BUT

.. one screen has stopped working
.. forced feedback doesnt work
.. monitor goes off and on
.. brake pedal doesnt work

on video games they are NO cheap repairs
