Anyone interested in a Nintendo NES with 3 controllers, 1x zapper, Mario/Duck Hunt, original power supply and RF cable, plus the 14” Sony Trinitron TV for £100? (collection from/near Cambridge)
Everything is working as it should.

Thought it best to post here, than in the machines for sale thread….If it needs to go elsewhere for non-pinball related sales, please can an admin move it accordingly 😊 thanks.

A few years ago I trawled eBay and 2nd hand shops looking for a small CRT for my retro consoles, couldn't find one anywhere for a reasonable price or within a reasonable distance. Understandably they've nearly all been tipped, I think retro gaming is the only real use for them nowadays.

Yes Phil, you need a CRT for the NES zapper. It blanks the screen when you pull the trigger except for a white hit box round the target and the sensor in the gun can tell if you're pointing at the white box for a hit or the black screen for a miss. I think that's how it works anyway 🤣

Before I moved in with my other half I used to have a nice Sony CRT I'd use for super famicom, megadrive etc - I ended up giving it away in the end and buying an OSSC; it's hard to beat a crt, but thr OSSC box was well worth the money (much cheaper than a Framemeister upscaler too) - retrogames look awesome on a modern HDTV. Scaneline modes (I can't play without scanlines!...) look great and no video lag. Light guns won't won't work with it though.

This reminds me; in preparation for another move I'll be thining down my retrocollection - will put a for sale post on here soon for some Madcatz arcade sticks and likely a Sega Dreamcast👍🏻

i wasn’t into gaming ever but i really regret giving away my 21” sony trinitron tv in full working order. i had it for >20 years and it was reliable and great picture for the time.

i also regret skipping about 50 17” & 21” crt monitors at work one year.
