AppleTV seems like overkill for the task we require it for at the studio, we just need to run infrequent short slideshows from a Macbook to a monitor for clients to view.
No video will be streamed, so less concern about bandwidth jittery/screencasting issues.
For the past 7 years I've just used an HDMI cable, but in the new space the monitor will be wall mounted so would prefer to be cable free.

Can anyone recommend any of those cheap dongles ?

Thank you

Second hand Apple TV?
They really are simple and just work.

I may even have one sat about due for eBay.

Thanks mate I'd thought about that, if they were USB powered and a bit less clunky I'd probably go that route.

Took a gamble with the £30 Roku, seems to work perfectly from the MacBook and is using Airplay not just generic screen mirroring.
