It pains me to sell this, its in great condition!

1996 Williams Junkyard

Fully Working

Custom Topper - lights flash and move as you play

Side Blades inside have been graphic'd to match the game (beautiful)

Playfield in great condition (see pics)

Main Graphics are in great condition as you can see from the pictures, few minor scuffs which you would expect on a machine of this age.

£3200 - ONO (as per advice received today I'm told its worth around this, I've had her for 9 years and wasn't sure what it was worth so have taken advice before listing)

Great game. Really enjoyed playing it.
The new code sounds promising too

I think the condition dictates price - if I remember correctly one on here for £2300 with nails in the playfield and a battered cabinet - this looks a bit better than that with blades and topper I’d say north of £2500

I sold mine 6 months ago for about £2k.
Think the post may be on here.

Good luck with sale.

It’s also just after Christmas when people are spent out.

I saw it on Facebook and to be honest. Would of offered you £2k as I do miss it and I’m down the road in Brum and could grab it east.

Cabinet definately wasn't battered and there was 4 small holes in the outlanes - not nails. And in the end I took 2k for it and even that was a struggle. I'd expect a mint Junkyard to go for £2.5k not much more

Might as well close this thread now then. Can't imagine anyone here will want to pay £700 more than they could have done on fb. Original price on fb looked about right, where did you get the price from? Advice from someone? Next option might be to put it on ebay and to find out its true value?

There was one listed on ebay it ended week before xmas, it was from special when lit at Salisbury, that was listed for 2.5k and didn't sell.

Why does the seller need to close this thread? If @lulabella666 has had some over-ambitious advice that isn't her fault, she just needs to lower the price a bit. Maybe be a Reverse (Dutch) Auction starting high and working down?

I told the lady it was worth £2k today when she phoned me and to sell it here. I still believe that to be correct but I think a few optimistic people who have no idea have stuck their oars in!

We all also know there are some right dreamers on some of the FB groups.... so possibly not the best place to take advice on...

Mine sold for 2.5K last year .
It's a great game .
Really down to who's selling and who's buying.

I nearly bought a junk yard from a lady last year listed at 1500 by the time I put the phone down she told me she had offers in excess of 3k / I didn’t bother arguing as she new nowt

That this for sale ad destroyed then for the seller. Normally on sale ad's in forums or FB, if you don't like the price, scroll on, don't highjack. If the price is to high it will not sell. Just my 2 cents.

I think Junkyard is a great game - certainly a game I’d like to own one day.

Probably common sense here but thought I’d give an active buyers perspective to pricing.

Personally I gauge how quickly a game moves as a big indicator for fair pricing. There are many games that move quickly, but also many that don’t. It’s all down to price isn’t it?

My belief is getting a strong price for any machine, relies on someone in a hurry, someone who has a personal connection with the game, or it’s incredibly rare - basically perfect timing.

I’m happy to let a couple or more examples move through to get a good idea of the right price range. Anything above 10%-15% of the price I have seen, doesn’t get my attention.

Fundamentally no one wants to take a big hit on owning a game do they? My investment decision is generally - can I enjoy my money locked up in a thing, and at some point get close to that money back out when I need it.

Buying a machine as an investment for better than equity/bond returns is really tricky: unless you’re really well connected, and spending a lot of time searching - in my opinion.

Not sure if this is helpful to anyone! But thought I’d share my opinion.

Thanks, people could have sent me private messages instead of hijacking the thread. I had stated that I was selling at this price as this is what I was advised, whether that be rightly or wrongly. I've had people say its worth between £2,000 all the way up to £4750 (which did seem far too high even though I'm not an expert) So hence I went in the middle.
The facebook posts I removed not long after posting in here, and explained why above and yet still I got slated.
The machine in question belonged to me and my partner (he was a very active member in here) but he passed away in November. I'm having to move house with the boys and I'm not sure I'll have room for it, otherwise it wouldn't even be up for sale as it is quite sentimental.
It's in pristine condition with only a few very minor scuffs, everything about it is beautiful, its a fabulous example, plus has lots of mods.
Anyway - I'm going to hang onto it for a bit, I've put an offer in on a house and I'll try and make it fit.

Just saying when using the term Pristine or mint condition. Very few machines are like this even brand new games out of the box develop ware of some description..

One mans idea of mint isn’t necessarily another mans idea - it looks good to me from what I can see - the cab looks better than most

Condolences. Very sorry for your loss.
