hi

I remember reading about this somewhere but of course once I need it I can't find it again..

Anyhow, for I'm playing a game of whitewater and I lock a ball in no way out, when the ball is ejected into the shooter lane it is quickly followed by a second ball. It fires just one after a ball over or at the start of gold rush but seems to throw out two every time you lock in no way out/wet willies

I think it might have kicked two balls out once at the start of a ball but I can't be sure, just mentioning it in in case, it certainly only kicks one ball out in all the games I test played tonight

Cheers
Ian

Put the game in switch test and go from there. Check trough switches first then optos.

Cheers Peter..

Thought I'd checked the optos in the lock but on retesting I see the middle one is non responsive.
I replaced the sender and the receiver but still no better, will buzz out the cables next to see if I've continuity to the mpu board. Should have done that first I guess but I had a bag of optos from jims parts sale at the end of last year so went ahead.

Nothing like an impending league meet to bring out the faults in your machines....

Hoping it's not a problem on the board

Cheers Peter..

Reflow the solder on the connector pins before checking continunity to the MPU.

the middle non responsive one.

Actually if you've already replaced the optos then you've done it already so probably time to continunity check. Or you could wiggle connector on the MPU (when in switch test) and see if it makes a difference (if it does reflow MPU connector).

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I can see light from the sender with an old phone, but I will reflow the receiver tomorrow and then do the mpu check,

Cheers.

Think ive got to the bottom of this.

When I replaced the opto sender and receiver for the centre lock i made sure i kept the same orientation but it seems the person that 'fixed' it previously had turned the receiver around.

Found it when i had replaced the optos, reflown the solder on the opto board, banged my head of the wall a few times etc and then followed through the wiring diagram

had a few test games and all seems fine now .... just have to sort the lcd on frankenstein now
Cheers Peter etc for your help
