For those interested, i am remaking whitestar cpu boards. (BSMT chip era)

See here for a full redraw of the schematic.

Aiming to offer a lower cost barebones option aswell as one with std chips included, all ics will be fully socketed and board assembled with all discretes.

Deciding if its going to be distributor or direct purchasing

Exact replica of layout with all parts named the same. Schematic drawn to match original as close as possible to. Some usual improvements like extra voltage leds and more test pads etc

Any update on these? Wondering whether to buy a repaired board, Rottendog, retro city or have just seen this too.

Thanks

Thanks, are we talking months or years do you think? Any idea on price point?

Cheers

How were the prototypes? Do you think we might see these before Christmas?

Thanks

Does it not support LOTR, I know the run was long, but I'm pretty sure the early ones where white star. I think only the LE was a different boatd

Lotr is whitestar modified. The list is the list.
Thanks, was more curious if there was a difference. I know you modified my LOTR missing power b board from an e revision to G, wondered if it was the same

Lastest pics form prototype testing.

CPU Section now working, Switches, DMD, Driver IO now working, Partial sound working, working though last issues. Major progress. Also confirmed all 3 PAL ics are correct now to. Parts positioning, assembly and bom also good. Happy with the choice of amp heatsinks to.

Interested in one of these for my JPLW. How much will it cost for a fully assembled board?
