So!
been Putting this on hold for long enough, today me and my brother Alfie dismantled the WH20. Between 2 cups of tea and just under four hours we are ready for the cabinet to be stripped of artwork, tomorrow’s job.
The aim is to get the cabinet done before the 29th, that’s treatment day for me, it can then sit in the house for 10 days or more before the slow rebuild.

Made good progress today mostly because of the good weather. Tomorrow I will add glue and screws to the front corners which there is movement, rear corners will also get extra screws while I’m at this stage.
Happy days

2 whole days filling sanding, filling sanding and when I think I'm all done I find 3 more places to fill. This cabinet feels like silk now. The inside is also filled and sanded.

Looking good. I’m the same, just when I think I’m done, I find another bit to fill.

Did you paint all of the inside of your T2 ? I can’t remember that far back lol

Yeah I did. I’m also painting the insides on the 2 TAF’s I’m currently working on.

The bottom of the cabinets are usually stained, which could be sanded clean but imo if you going to the trouble of doing all this work, for the sake of a couple more cans of spray and another hour or so of your time, it’s worth painting the entire cabinet.

Definitely doing the same, my T.Z was done in black and it looks lovely. With the WH20 I’m thinking blue inside but my gut feeling should be black.

If I had a WH20, I think I’d be tempted to go blue as well

Every time I see an Ant picture he sets back my process another day as I end up going. Oh that looks good I should do that.

When I snuff it I want to be buried in an 'Ant Cab'.

Back on the cabinets today after a short break, I must say Ant-H said paint the whole cabinet, that way you will see any bits you’ve missed and of course I had.
Fill sand and spray, fill sand and spray.
Tomorrow I will do it all again until it’s good enough for Gonzo lol

Looking good mate. It’s frustrating isn’t it?

You think you’ve finished with the filling and sanding and it looks perfect. But spray a little primer and you suddenly see that it wasn’t so good, and thus starts the process all over again 😬

But it’s worth it imo, as had you fitted the decals at that stage, all those areas the primer has highlighted would have shown straight through the art work and by then it to late.

Have you found a blue yet to paint the inside with? Are you going to try and match the colour of the decals?
Taking a decal to the paint shop on Monday to colour match. Bloody rain stop play this morning, so might do some cleaning of cabinet parts.

That’s exactly what I’m doing now. I wanted to sand down the back boxes but the rain has put a stop to that. So I think I’ll work on the playfield for a bit.

It’s all in the prep mate.
I dont do this much prep when I paint a room in the house. Cabinet finished, back box tomorrow if the weather holds.

All painted, will give it a week to fully cure then flatten the decal sides near to the painted corners.
In the mean time lots of cleaning of cabinet parts.
cabinets have been promoted to the warm house.
