I know there's a lot of advice on leveling inserts out there, and this thread isn't about hammer versus clamp.
What my noobish self is wondering though is this - is it worth levelling inserts that are only slightly raised/sunk by a fraction of a mm (i.e. you can see a white line around it and your fingernail catches on the edge)? All the advice articles tend to show badly sunken/raised decaled inserts instead rather than what I described above.
I'm particularly asking about painted inserts here, since I presume there's a risk that leveling will chip the edges (but at the same time, if you leave them as-is you risk the ball chipping the edge too). I previously asked this on Pinside too but thought it was worth getting a few more opinions here before finally biting the bullet!
