Flicked on my Star Wars Data east whilst I was chatting without looking at the machine. After about 30 seconds I could smell something burning. Turned around quickly and noticed the DMD wasn't displaying. Quickly knocked it off.

Turns out a fuse has blown. It's a .5A Can you get these from the local B&Q or somewhere like that?

Awwww man! It's still poorly. I replaced the fuse and the same thing happens. TR3(Black cover with screw towards top left of picture) sparkson the underside. Looks like there are a couple of solder points. Maybe they're shorting? You can see it's slightly scorched underneath then the fuse slowly burns out.

I've taken the board out and I've opened a can of worms. There have been some botch job repairs done to the board in the past.

P1040181.jpgP1040182.jpgConnector CN1 has had a pin burn out so a "repair" job has been done on the back of the board. A couple of wires soldered on to the board and then to the cable for that particular pin.

Think I'll just go for a replacement board. Anyone got one for sale?
