What is this part? (Crimp terminal)

there is also an electrical wholesalers near you V - walk over the footbridge over the A2 and it’s in the main road there just before screw fix. Prob better quality - but it does depend on the quality of the crimp tool you have / need / will use - they will also sell them, generally a ratchet one is a win
Red is 1.5mm
blue is 2.5mm
yellow you won’t need and i suspect blue you won’t either
Prob get more help in the wholesalers over what you are buying too
Not that screw fix is bad. But given your experience , experience is helpfull ££

sizes they come in are 6.3 / 4.8 / 2.8

hence just going to the wholesales and they will direct accordingly - no point buying crimps if you don’t have a crimper

We do have a crimper for re-pinning molexes. Not sure if that’s going to work?

I’d ordered those ones from Screwfix before everyone else replied, so I’ll see whether they fit and, otherwise, try the wholesalers :)

Ratchet crimper / You can buy for much less but cheap ones can make a simple crimp into a dogs dinner - same for poor quality crimps
All depends on how much your going to do

this might be your friend too - again cheap is not worth it. I’ve tried many and this is my preferred model
IRWIN VISE-GRIP Wire Stripper, Self-Adjusting, 8-Inch (2078300), Blue/Yellow https://amzn.eu/d/eAu2iNC

Don’t even bother with BQ home brand

We've got a crimper, but it was less than £38.50 and, as you point out, getting a decent crimp from it is an art. I usually do about 3-4 pins before I get a decent non-messy lock onto the wire. We recrimp a lot because there's been a bunch of occasions where we've needed to re-pin a molex. I just wasn't sure if the same crimper worked for the female terminal ends as did for the molex plug pins?

Our (cheap) wire stripper hasn't caused any issues so far :)

There might be a specific crimper. i know the one i mentioned has a flat plate mainly for spade crimps etc. Mine is old style and i can use it on anything so haven’t looked into another type sorry

You must have some monster wires underneath your playfield to use the one on the left 😂

Sounds like, if you can use it on anything, we can use it on both :)

Molex and spade connectors are completely different crimps. If you are using a spade crimper on Molex you should redo your plugs. RS sells both a Molex prototype hand crimp tool, the “right” tool (expensive) and one with exchangeable inserts. I have the latter, really helpful.

We‘re using a Molex crimper on the Molex, I think. Our crimper has narrow slots.

https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/crimp-tools/7106499?gb=s is the cheap tool and works well if you do a few crimps every so often. Two crimps per contact for cable and insulation.
https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/crimp-tools/6634246?gb=s is the right tool...
And here is why it is important to use the right tool: https://docs.rs-online.com/6a65/0900766b814ad5da.pdf Very tight specification around how a crimp should look like - connection should be gas free after the crimp while not cutting off the cable.

That is a lot for a crimp tool. I think ours cost £15! 😮

Dedicated crimp tools often are a shocking price. 30-odd years ago I had a temporary job making up wiring harnesses for custom-made control boxes to be used controlling an oil drilling bit. The gold-plated terminals (supplied in a small plastic tube, really handy for holding small screws, etc) used in the connector housings required their own crimp tool. Even then, this was priced in three figures.
