What the flip is going on with my Surf N Safari :tsk:
Right ....was getting low battery message on power up.Game was playing fine. Checked the on board battery and yes it was low. Removed it and fitted new battery holder as the original battery was soldered right on to the board. New 3v lithium battery installed.
Turn back on - game seems to boot.
Game starts, seems to be on Freeplay, though the credits say 'FF' now ...I'm sure it used to say Freeplay, and it seems to be on infinite balls now ??
So go to adjustment menu, and this is where it gets very odd, you can cycle thru adjustments 1 - 8 no problem ...as soon as go to adjustment 9 a coil fires, and a whole bunch of lights and flashers come on on the playfield ?????
Can cycle thru the rest of the adjustments but the game wont let me change anything, and for most settings it is displaying 'FF' ??
Any advice anybody ?? Its like the game code is suddenly corrupt or something.
I reseated the game ROM and connectors on the board I had out, no difference.
Just tried starting game again and the oddness continues, now no flipper power for ball 1 until it goes into the trough again then its all fine, and the bonus sequence seems non existent.
The game has gone mental :der:
