Weird fish tales issue

Whilst someone was playing my fish tales this afternoon, first ball still in play, they shot the ball up the left lane and into the fish finder. By doing so their score increased just enough all fair and square to gain an extra ball which I have set at 69,million.
Instead of the knocker going once and awarding one extra ball, it went three times in fast succession. In doing so his score lept from 69 million upto around 820 million AND he received three extra balls.
He’s snatched the grand champion spot with 1.3billion but it would appear there was a glitch as I’ve never seen that happen before.

Any ideas please folks?

Happened a few times since the first incident. Seems to be at random times/modes during playbut only happens as an extra ball is awarded. I just had it happen during multiball boosting my score by about 800million, and I just watched it happen again during rock the boat. Went from 69million to over 250million

Sounds like a real glitch in software or memory corruption. If by quick succession you mean very quickly I'd say the score jump/bug was pretty immediate and the system is reacting accordingly.

I'm not aware of any kind of award in FT to this value.

Love this kind of thing. It's rare as hell in 90s pins as the software is usually solid from the off.

If you wanna try fixing it then a factory reset is a good start as It will re-write the RAM and remove any bad bytes

I remember reading about this on a pinside thread, I think the problem was having the extra ball value too low, and the score skyrocketing once the value was reached.
