Videodrome

The criterion release looks ace in a Betamax box . I do also have the arrow 4 disc set
I'm trying to get my mates that have never seen it to watch .
I rate it as science fiction over horror

I think it was on Film4 recently(ish) as part of a retro horror season. I'm not a hardcore fan and don't know anything about special releases, uncut this, that or the other, but I've always enjoyed what I would call "alternative" films. Usually at 3am when I can't sleep ;) I generally lean toward sci-fi rather than the classic horror stuff I remember catching a glimpse of through the doorway into the small room labelled "ADULTS ONLY" at the VHS hire shop: Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Exorcist, etc. But it's all good. Flicking through IMDB I'm reminded that there are loads of great films I need to see again: Naked Lunch, Scanners, Elephant Man, Eraserhead, Dead Zone, Time Bandits, THX 1138... oh the list goes on... !!!

Bet you like SALO lol

Salo is nasty
Never watched but did own the criterion white ring release - sold for £450 about 10 years ago
I did grow up on video and have seen the 39 nasties .
It was a big part of my youth

Just done my IMDB research... Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom seems like a lovely family Sunday afternoon movie!

Bad Taste is a good un. Made (and acted in) by a young Peter Jackson who made the LOTR films

Brain dead is a classic - you got me started now - how about basket case ? A classic tale of weird and brilliant low budget effects

Bad taste and braindead are fun too.
Devils rejects is quite nasty for a Morden film as is five across the eyes.
88 films and arrow have both put out some epic bad taste movies and some are only £8 on blu Ray in hmv.
Picked up ss experiment camp / nightmares in a damaged brain / evil speak / madman in the last 12 months

Talking of Peter Jacksons films.....how about Meet The Feebles - a fantastic adult-only muppet-type film. Features a rabbit with an STD :) Hilarious film!
Yep - great film. Must watch it again sometime
