Hi All

Is it possible to update software on various different machines using a Mac? Or is pretty much everything window based?

I am toying with the idea of purchasing a cheap windows laptop

You can do it with a Mac no problem.

What game do you want to update though?

You can do modern games that need a USB stick.

If you are burning eproms then sadly I do not know of a burner you can use on a mac.

Pinball 2000 will be updateable soon on a Mac as Jim is working on that.

Why would you run windows on a mac :) Joking apart I have an image of my old PC on Parellels desktop which runs within Mac os with no dual boot. I rarely use it now.

There is ZERO need to run windows being a pinball owner. If you want eproms, ask @Paul or @philpalmer as they both burn them.

JJP and STERN are both easy to update on a mac.

Horrible running Windows on a Mac. You have to if you want to use Visio or Project though. Also some homebrew / specialist programmes unless you use wine or similar. I have parallels and VMWare Fusion, but actually dual boot is better in reality if you only need Windows in certain circumstances. Otherwise, avoid Windows like the plague...
