UKCS

Big thanks from me too, great weekend, loved the format too. I was below the cut line all day until the last round where I managed 2 wins to put me on 100 points. Unfortunately on Sunday morning it's like I had left my skills in the hotel and went out 4-0 in the first round, but I still loved that I had a minimum of 4 opportunities to play well, just need to practise taking those opportunities!

First visit to Pinball Republic in the new venue and it's fantastic. Only wish I could pick it up and move it a few hours north 😁

Congrats to Will and to Ben. Thanks everyone!

What an incredible event. That's how the UKCS should be run, the whole thing was just a huge celebration of UK competitive pinball, absolutely brilliant. Thank you to Matt and Neil and the whole PBR team. It was a huge undertaking, the format was absolutely amazing, the stories and individual achievements were just brilliant.

I'm on a massive come down today, but I just wanted to say thank you so much to everyone who made it possible, I just hope that it can become a staple of the UK calendar for ever more.

PBR is a special place people, support it, come to the British Masters, go to every event you can and keep it alive

This cannot be stressed enough, PBR needs the support. @Tilt_Birmingham touched on it in relation to how much to charge for events. The prices need to go up, and players will pay as we all love this hobby. Without PBR these great events simply wouldn't go ahead due to the size and number of machines needed to run them.

Just to add my thanks - what a brilliant tournament format and event. Really felt every bit a major tournament with spectacular battles and amazing play by so many people. Huge thanks to everyone involved as always.

On another note - we still have British Masters tickets in April left - come along if not registered already and available. It will be brilliant for sure, with A, B and C finals in the main event so everyone has something to play for... and also a separate Classics comp and a Pingolf event as well!

Completely agree re: supporting venues like PBR, but also there needs to be caution with just increasing prices all the time. Not everyone is going to be able to spend £50/60 per tournament, particularly when you add on a few days of parking fees, fuel, hotels, eating out etc.
Visiting venues outside of tournament times, weekends and evenings also help to support these venues. PBR, SWL, Medway, Pinball Office, Tilt and others aren't only open for tournaments, so get out and visit all year round, as they won't survive based on tournaments alone.

Bump - people need as much warning as possible to save the dates, and with possibly 3 months notice needed the comp begins to get too close to the East Anglia Pinball Open, which would not be good for either event or anyone hoping to go to both.

Appreciate these things are far from easy to plan, but it would be really good to know the date soon.

Yeah 100% agree maybe eye up late April so no conflicts and space between big events

PBR again? Only suitable venue to have a mix of classics and modern…

I don’t think it can be late April because it’ll need to be done before ECS, which is 11-12 April in Sweden

I would like to offer any venues, organisations or groups the opportunity to host the UKCS.

Ideally I would like to keep the format which replicates the world championship itself. This does mean that a variety of machine ages/eras is required but am happy to work with those interested in hosting. There are funds available to cover costs if a space needs renting or a venue needs any help.

I myself can bring games of any required era to help if needed.

If interested, please drop me a message

I think the idea of moving around the country is excellent, I would love to visit Blackpool or of course SWL which has been a stalwart of the UK Pinball community since I started playing.

All I will say is, what happened at PBR this year was truly special. I have been playing competitive pinball for a decent amount of time and I have very rarely come away from a tournament in the UK feeling like that was pretty much perfection. 64 players from all around the country, all competing together across 2 epic days on such a variety of machines. It was one of the highlights of my year, for sure. I really hope that this year's UKCS can be of similar gravitas and as high a level of event.

Just for context and for those who care about these things,

I really felt proud to be part of a vibrant competitive community at PBR in March that gave everyone who made the 64 cut an experience that I think will stay long in the memory. It really felt like everything was maxamised to the full potential, really giving the 64 players an amazing experience.

Very much looking forward to the announcement and date for the UKCS finals. Thank you Matt as always for all the effort and planning that goes into this, it's an amazing thing
