• 32 players maximum
• All games set on 3 ball play
• Wayne Johns has kindly offered to referee it
• Practice 12:00 to 14:00
• Lunch available from 13.00, hot and cold soft drinks
• Tournament begins at 14:00
• First round is league-style. 8 groups of 4 players drawn randomly on the day. Each group of 4 plays together on 4 machines with points for positions on each game. If ties within the group after this, then a single game will be used to split them
• Top 2 in each group qualify for the A Pool knockout
• Bottom 2 in each group fall into the B Pool knockout
• The A Pool rounds take 16 down to 8, down to 4, down ...to 2. All best of 3 games on 3 machines
• The B Pool first round takes 16 down to 8. Then it includes losers from the A Pool for the next match. And so on. All single game knockout like the 2015 UK Open in Merthyr
• The winner of the B Pool joins the last 2 in the A Pool for the 3 way grand final on three machines
• Trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place

I have hosted the Midlands league before. For those who have not been to my place, all games are inside the house. My line up …
• Banzai Run
• Black Knight 2000
• Funhouse
• Paragon
• The Addams Family
• The Shadow
• Twilight Zone
• Vector
• World Poker Tour
• Tron - thanks to @mark9 for lending this to the tournament

The format ideally requires 32 players. Late drop-outs could prove tricky so £10 is payable in advance via paypal

The event is subject to change should numbers dictate

Any people willing to act as stand-bys would be much appreciated

To register, please send me a facebook or pinballinfo message

Attendee list will be updated on facebook page

sounds good, David, i'd be up for it if it was nearer but i need to play my cards carefully to keep SWMBO sweet and allow me to do full weekends away for (Slam) UKPP 8BF (NERG) NLP.

i suggest you also tell Martin Ayub and he can put it in his show calendar on pinball news

Thanks Dan.

In trying to figure all this out, I liaised with Martin so he is in the loop, he is registering it with the wppr folk, giving me a hand putting it up on facebook etc etc

I'm in and looking forward to this  Cracking selection of games kept in good order and in a good space. We had a quality Midlands league meet at Davids and more games have been added to the collection since then so it should be a good one :D

Sounds great David, put my name down and messaged you on facebook. I might bring a friend but will wait to hear back from him. Will let you know if he wants to come.

Cheers,

Sam.

Hmmm, very tempted. Not played pinball in ages because my R&B is still being restored - things came to a bit of a grinding halt over the latter part of 2015.

And you're only just up the road from me. Time to speak to the missus I think.

Give it a go. I have set it up so that even if someone is out at the earliest point, they still get

Decent grub and drinks
2h practice on the 10 games
4x 4 man games in the qualifying stage on 4 different machines
1x knock out game

We rearrange the place so there is plenty of space in my house so it will not be too crowded, hot etc and there will be 10 comfy chairs in the lounge for socialising. Main pinball room leads to the patio and garden if there are smokers/ folk wanting some air

Sounds like a hoot, looking forward to it- Dave, I sent you a fb message about tickets for me and my mate, let me payment details

In terms of logistics for those in London who might be brave enough to head northwards ...

London Kings cross to my nearest station, newark northgate, is about 1h 20 minutes. Newark to my house by car is 20 minutes straight up the a1.

My house is about 1 mile off the a1 dual carriageway. Newark northgate station is also about 1 mile off the a1. After the tourney folk heading south would almost certainly head down the a1 before heading off towards leicester, m1, m25, m11, birmingham etc, so will drive right past newark. So if you know any of the folk from the south who are driving, they could easily drop you off at newark station without adding much time to their own journey.

Very sorry guys.

'er indoors has had a scan and blood test in the past week that reveals she will require an expedited operation. It is not a doomsday scenario, it should all work out OK, but needs prompt attention.

So I just don't know how the land will lie in a month's time

I have not taken any money from anyone. Some attendees were looking into trains and also there is another tournament on that weekend that some guys had declined to attend the Robin Hood. So I really do not want to risk messing anyone around.

No worries dude, it's more important 'er' indoors' gets better. Pass on my regards.

Does this affect the midlands league meet this weekend coming as well just out of interest? I know you are hosting it.

Hi. Yes, the Midlands one is going ahead !!!

Waxed paragon overnight.

Vector was brought in from the workshop on Sunday. Waxed overnight. Gave me a scare this morning with some flashing lamp malarkey, but it was just a case of cleaning one of the connectors on the auxillary lamp board.

Getting my funhouse ready has nearly broken my spirit. But it is there now. Finally got it all together over the weekend. Been playing it to iron out niggles, get flippers set right etc. Playing really nicely now

Banzai is waxed and all well

Bk2k is waxed and all well

Will be cleaning and waxing shadow, world poker, tz and addams tonight. These are my home office based players so are all in regular use and ok

Look forward to seeing you !

D

Sorry to hear about the missus, I hope it's quickly sorted and that she makes a full recovery. I was really looking forward to playing your superb restores, BR and FH!

Peter, you are very welcome to pop round when you are next visiting your relatives up here
