TZ spiral "when lit"

Excuse the pun, but... Can anyone shed some lite! Had a TZ for 6+ years and recently started playing it again, and noticed that when the spiral door panel is lit then the left or right spiral lights DONT lite, thus not indecating to the novice/uninisiated what to shoot for! They DO light when the out lane rollovers are activated and durring bulb tests... And Im SURE they lit when I had the machine, Then i THINK the righthand spiral stopped working and now the left doesnt work...BUT I COULD HAVE IMAGINED THE HOLE THING!.. They work at ALL other times, just not when the panel is activated..Should they work durring "the Spiral" door panel? Cheers Alex.

It's that random yellow bulb on the left that lights during 'the spiral'. I seem to remember some last minute cost cutting just prior to production left it that way.

You can get aftermarket things like this http://www.pinballdecals.com/TwilightZoneSprialSignPage.html
Cheers for the reply.. and yes I remember the lefthand yellow spiral bulb lighting, but still think the RIGHTHAND spiral lit durring this mode...Cant see why it wouldnt, as everyother inlaid light, flashs or lights when lit on the door...so will keep an open mind on this one! Could do with someone replying with a "brand new in box"! TZ... but that ant going to happen due to the fact none had been made in 22 years :0/ Seconded question... If they flash in other modes and durring bulb tests, what direction should I look to trace it/them not working when then door panels lit?

Just played my TZ - you are correct the spiral lights don't light when in spiral door mode. I think it is a given that you know what to shoot for when in Spiral door mode...

Right....Think its called..."I cant see the wood for the trees!" Firstly, thanks to everyone whos commented, and to Wizcat as your right...The left yellow/red (depending, think its red on the flyer) floating bulb should lite when in spiral mode (otherwise why would the proto plastic say "shoot when lit") and why would it be there!...and Im possitive it was lighting last month.. And Im pretty sure the righthand inlay spiral used to light at the same time..although I cant be 100%, I am 99.9%. The otherthing that make me think that quite a few of us are wrong about it not lighting (The righthand light)...is that not many, if any of us had the pins from NEW and it could be a common fault! also the rh light is so well hidden, it becomes unnoticeable after youve had the pin for a while, and we tend to rely on the music to tell us its in spiral mode!..So surposing they both should light (and they do in atract mode, bulb test, line test, playfield test etc)...Why dont they light durring "the Spiral"?..Anybody any ideas on whats braking down? ( beside the will to live! yawn) Cheers again for help Alex.

I just checked mine and neither lights are lit during spiral mode, the right hand one does flash rapidly when the clock is about to time the mode out but that's all.
We can't all have broken TZ's surely, mine is the home rom too, maybe they worked in an older version?

The left one deffinately did in spiral mode ( people wouldnt be selling signs with shoot here when lit, if it didnt, would they?) and Bally wouldnt have stuck the bulb, mounting and wiring there if it didnt work. When is anyones else lighting up then?..off to play it, I should be painting my door (no..not the one to another dimention!)... I HATE BULBS THAT DONT WORK

The righthand spiral flashes for about 5 seconds when the lefthand inlane rollover is activated... the lefthand spiral is flashing itermitently durring play mainly when shoots are played to the brigde diverter....
