Tumbling Metal - Faith Restored

I had rather lost confidence in the whole tumbling business, as my tumbler did not really cope with heavily pitted metal on my old Bally SS games. But my faith has been restored.

I am in the middle of renovating my scared stiff. This was one filthy part that caught my eye ...



Using one of these with walnut shells and solvol autosol in it. Leaving it for four days ...


The rather sad bit of metal came out looking like this ...


It also dealt very effectively with all the hex bolts too...

Ooooohh burnt bulbs ! I just LOVE replacing burnt bulbs. It's probably my single favourite job to do on a new game. Makes the game come alive when it has new GI bulbs in.

The secrete to tumbling is to leave it long enough 3 days plus

that's not a tumbler. It's a vibrating polisher. A tumbler will do nothing but waste your time.
