Does anyone know a good way of transferring old music to a PC please ?

Ideally in a format that allows you to jump to the track you want, rather than having to "fast forward" it

I have a suitable lead that plugs into the Mic socket on my laptop

Thank you

You could just record the whole track and then cut it using pretty much any basic editor into different tracks.

Sounds quality is likely to be poor though from cassette. Is it not available elsewhere in digital? Or is it personal stuff?

It is just old stuff that is not available online/ apple music etc

Do you know the names of suitable software to both record it and then edit it pls ?

Whats the old stuff, everything is on the internet ;)

Record the audio input with what you have or if you have a lot to do, you can get a USB cassette player that I think comes with software to automate things.

Where is a safe place to download audacity from pls. I don't want to download a virus or whatever

Sorry if a daft question but there are a few online sites that seem connected to audacity
