I am on the lookout for a ToM if anyone has one they are thinking of parting with.

Any condition really, but I am not looking for a super-expensive minty one. If you've got anything suitable, do PM me!

Thanks,

Paul

There is one on the bay, but its from a zero rated seller :(

I'm intending selling mine but it looks like it might be needing a new trunk motor first... The motor works fine but the trunk moves when the pinballs hit it and it's not suppose to...

Hi Moonraker. That's a co-incidence - it was this very machine that was the my first ever experience of ToM at SWL. I'll PM you...

It's also your tron that made me want to have one at some point even if yours is what Neil calls the poor mans version of tron lol

Do you not just need to tighten the allen-key nut for the trunk base that sits on the motor shaft?

Sadly not... :( That was the first thing I checked. I thought it might be a funny in the gear box until I discussed it at last weekend's league meet where someone else who had owned one said that it was the motor.

Andy K and John W both had the same issue. I think everytime the opto was trigger in made the motor increment round slightly. They both replaced the motor and never had a problem again.
Maybe they can confirm

My trunk issue was slightly different. The trunk turned too slowly, so it didn't always go back to the right position. Sometimes in multiball the ball only went half way round the trunk before the magnet turned off.

Got a new motor but before I fitted it decided to go the whole hog and change the motor and gearbox. Problem solved!

If you want my old gearbox and the brand new motor then give me a shout. The box would be free but I'd like to get the cost back on the motor if possible (think it was about £30). Reading Pinside since installing it, it looks like you can clean up the gear box rather than having to buy a new one (Obviously I read this after forking out £200 on a new gear box )
