Anybody seen a garbled DMD like this?
Its on my Shadow. Checked the ribbon connector was seated ok to no improvement. Any pointers in which direction to wave the soldering iron would be appreciated

Anybody seen a garbled DMD like this?

Yes that's ok, it was working for a few months and then went garbled without anything being changed.
Did you reseat the ribbon cable between CPU board and DMD controller board also ? Not just the one going to the display.

Possibly not, I only checked 2 connectors. I will do a better job after work tonight!

Fixed!
It was the connector, took everything off and reseated it all and all was good. Didn't notice anything not connected while doing it.

I reckon that 95% of issues are connector related. You'd think they would be more reliable?
True - but then nearly 20 year old connections now. Plenty of time for oxidation and general cruddiness to take its toll
Is there any greater feeling after you encounter a seemingly hideous problem with one of your games and it turns out to be a 2 second connector re-seat fix? Always a massive relief.
