Found some old pinball owners association mags in a tidy up and amazed to find a super rare Solar Fire in the small ads

Seller Steve Dyer was in IT and a serial bulk pinball buyer

I first met him at the arcade show in London in the late 80s where he was polishing a row of 3 black knights

I asked him why bring 3 of the same game and his answer was "because l can"

A role model from the very first encounter lol !

Also Mike Pearce selling on that ad he used to write some brilliant witty pages in the pinball wizard mag ,used to make me laugh how he told stories

One ad from those days that's stuck with me listed four requirements; after backglasses, Williams driver boards for Gorgar and Disco Fever, and 'Gottlieb front rails, for 1967 machines, qty 4', the final line said '(a) good F-14 Tomcat', which would only have been a couple of years old at the time.
