Traded The Getaway: HS2 (Williams '92) £3000

Up for sale this well-loved example of a stone cold classic. I've done a little bit of work on it, will link to my shop log at the end of the post. Don't expect a restoration though! In summary:

• Comet LED conversion in inserts, GI & backbox - shout out to @David retro
• Mirror blades
• New 10W resistor PCB for the beacon
• Flipper rebuild x3
• Rebuilt the horribly bodged power box
• New coil sleeves everywhere
• Stripped the topside, cleaned the ramps, and gave the play area a once over

The previous owner also gave it a new sheet of glass so that's in great shape. This game still has some issues though:

• Some inserts are raised. Most noticeable on HOLD BONUS, which sometimes affects ball travel. See pics, I've tried to capture as best as I can.
• The playfield has a mylar protector which wrinkled at some edges. Doesn't affect ball travel. Good news is it's done its job and the playfield underneath looks great!
• Cabinet is faded and generally a bit tatty, coin door not great. Again see pics
• Some parts have surface rust, in particular anything in contact with wood, like the threads on screws. None of it is structural nor does it cause any issues - it doesn't look nice under the hood. Guess this example was by the seaside at some point? I've tried to clean up under the lockdown bar, but many other places remain.

Just gave it a quick wax and it plays nice and fast. Everything works - all the switches, the beacon, plunge makes it round the loop, kickback usually goes to the saucer, and the supercharger is nice and fast

Comes with the following paraphernalia as pictured:

• Operations manual & schematics
• Partial rubber kit (I used a few of them!)
• Spare supercharger chrome covers & ramp U-turn airball plastic
• Donut heaven mod (has some cracks)

I regret not having the courage to tackle the raised inserts. Something about banging on the playfield just terrifies me! Hopefully a future owner will be able to tackle that as this great game deserves it. It's far from mint but really fun & enjoyable, actually many visitors prefer it over JP2 & TNA !

If you're still reading by now you understand that this is no mint resto. I've tried to be transparent about any issue I've noticed - I'm being pretty harsh when comparing it to the quasi-NIB games next to it... This is a player's game that's clearly given people a lot of joy over its 30 years, and should continue to do so!

Indeed BK2K had left some big shoes to fill. @Fubar you pointed out some issues in the advert, but perhaps too severe with your assessment, but you have done a great job on this girl. This Getaway is far nicer than expected...kudos sir!
