Hi all
I have managed to save a bit of money and would like to know what this could buy me to add to my collection. Hence the question: what's the best pinball that 2k can buy.
Thanks
Dom

for 2k there would be a lot of good pins to choose from, depends on what you prefer, if it was me, it would be a sttng, wh2o, or a bsd ,with change to spare

A mint Fish Tales, buy a Color DMD and full LED kit. Still got change to spare.

hmmmm, £2000.....

Creature From The Black Lagoon
Scared Stiff (if you're really lucky)
Bram Stoker's Dracula + Rollergames
World Cup Soccer + The Shadow
Star Trek The Next Generation (with change)

Could I get a ToM for 2k? Dom

Maybe but it would probably need a lot of work. Have you played a lot of different pins? Best thing is to play and put together a list of games you like....£2K will probably get you a lot of them.

For £2k I could probably squeeze out 5 maybe 6 new pins! Such is the advantage of liking old naff SS games from the 70s and 80s.

But for me the best pin that I'd pay considerably more for would be an A1 condition Gottlieb BLACK HOLE. Best pin ever made. Fact. Not just my opinion, but fact ;)

It's interesting how my perspectives have changed in the last year. But it's hard to say the 'best' machine for 2k because everyone opinion will vary.

If you want a theatre "josht17" on pinball owners ( uk ) has one for sale, needs a clean up and a new trunk cover from the pics but seems a fair price, he is accepting offers over 2k.

Thanks for all the replies. I could buy more than one but I only have space for one. In terms of taste I don't have a hit list of things I'd like to own but I prefer a machine with a dmd. I had seen josh17 machine on pinball owner but I wasn't sure whether a ToM was really that good. I have never played it.

ToM gets boring quite quickly in a small collection. You'll want to throttle the magician (there's SCToMA for a reason)

Now is a good time to buy as historically pins go for less in May and June (apart from sought after titles)

Maybe a Dredd or a JM will give you decent value for way less than 2k. TNG is also suitable in your budget

It may be worth waiting until the pinball party and trying then buying?

This.

I can only imagine how amazing it must feel to have cash in your pocket and to do the deal there and then before taking your prize home with you. Lovely stuff.

Don't know where you live but if you're anywhere near Salisbury you can come and try ToM at Special When Lit... :D just saying like..!

Up to 2k should give you option of lots of different machines but if you only have space for one try before you buy is best way otherwise you could end up with one that you maybe don't like so if you say where you are then there is bound to be somebody local to you who could help/advise.

I'd have thought if you got a TOM for £2k in this country, it's not going to be a very good condition one. They are usually £2.5k+?

Once you get one you will want another, even if you haven't got space for it, so i'd go for a cheaper one then you can get 2 or maybe 3 for your 2k :)

Agreed, no single table can provide you with all pinball has to offer.

I never understand "no space" for a pin / more than one pin.

I live in a normal 3 bed end terrace house, and somehow I have around 70 arcade machines

You need to look harder for space.

When I look in a room, I can scan around and spot spaces for arcade machines like no one else can, it's like seeing things through the eyes of the Terminator from T2

2k should buy a range of decent titles. TOM might be slightly more but not much. I like TOM but there are better games IMO. Don't get suckered by the idea of only ever buying one title. Whatever it is will get boring. I love my AFM but wouldn't want it as my only machine. Buy what ever grabs your fancy, play it for a few months and then swap it for something else. STTNG would be about that price and is a lot of game for the money or you could get a range of decent games for about £500 less. Don't be put off by other people being down on a game. I love Demo Man but many hate it. Even Popeye has some people as fans. If you can get to a league match or a show then perhaps you'll find a game that jumps out of the pack for you.

Just don't buy a Roadshow.....;)

I keep finding spaces and suggesting them but I get the 'look' from er indoors which says don't even consider it!! :)

Is it the same as the "when are you going to move all these arcade machines out of the house" look that I have been getting for 14 years?
