Is there technical sessions organised when there is a Pinfest or other social events? I like tinkering with my pinball more then play on it. That would also reduce the cost of having a technician doing it for me.

Youtube, pinwiki, pinrepair.com, this forum, there is so much help already there at your fingertips. if you want to know how to do something or have a particular issue, just post a question. the more you ask, the more you will learn. it’s ok to learn on a need to do basis. the problem with a std course or tech session is how do you make it relevant to the wide variety of technologies over the years from EM to early SS through DMd and to lcd, then multiply that across a number of different manufacturers. The common basics like changing rubbers, testing and replacing fuses, cleaning & waxing, replacing an end stop, testing a diode or coil, replacing a coil etc are all pretty much available online anyway. fixing circuit boards isn’t as complicated as it seems either - most problems are blown transistors, bad header pins/connectors and dried up defunct capacitors. For the really complicated stuff, there are experts on here who can fix almost anything.
