Taxi catapult, wire form and ramp alignment

I'm down to the last couple of niggly problems with my Taxi, one of which is an alignment problem with the Drac catapult, wire form and ramp that causes the ball to make it only half way up the ramp before it falls back to the play field rather than whizzing all the way around the ramp as it should.

Looking closely at the catapult the ball is catching the side of the wire form when launched and this is slowing the ball down significantly.

So I'm wondering if anyone has any top tips on how to go about getting these three parts nicely aligned. I'm sure someone has a methodical way of resolving this sort of issue, so what approach would you use?

Alignment is messed up because when I got the machine (my first), I jumped in and starting cleaning bits, but when I reassembled everything I had the alignment problem.

I'm just wondering if there's a methodical way of going about resolving this.

Please don't take this the wrong way..but.

The wire forms were bent/moulded to fit when they left the factory.

Surly they have been bent out of shape by a hand (human)
