There's some solder wire linked between all 4 pop bumpers on my TAF? Any ideas why?

Looking at the picture, they appear to all share one common line (Column 2), so the lampholders have one of the strips from each connected together, directly where possible. Each lampholder has the other strip supplied by a different Row, with the necessary isolating diode in series.

Just checked on mine !
And it looks like your pop bumpers have bean removed at some point , them flat links should be stapled to the playfield + you are a wire loom bracket missing , ( where the screw hole is )

I agree, someone has removed the complete pop bumper assemblies in the past. The only way to do this is to desolder the connections to the lampholders inside the pops. These are flat strips of metal stapled to the underside of the playfield. Someone in the past took a shortcut and just cut the flat metal strips
