My mate has bought a taf but it has gold software, he wants it back to standard, am I right it's just the cpu rom? and does anyone know what type of rom it is? as I can burn one here for him.

Thanks Ronnie

Thanks Daz :)
Certainly can - from memory may be a pair. Can't get them posted today, however can get them done and in the post first thing tomorrow if that's any good for you??
Cheers
Paul

Paul I can do the roms myself I just need to know the rom type size?

Thanks Ronnie

ahh got ya - Ok - Look at the file size and * by 8 - so for example - if the Rom image is 512k in size, it'll go onto a 4 Meg chip... fairly sure from memory that TAF game rom is a 4 Meg....

To convert TO gold roms :

It is possible to convert your regular Addams Family pinball to run Addams Family Gold game and sound ROMs.

Three new ROM chips are required- the Addams Gold game ROM, and two sound ROM chips. These chips will replace the chips currently in your game.

Old chips (regular Addams) removed are:

  • Game ROM U6 (on MPU board)
  • Sound ROM U18 (on MPU board)
New chips (Addams Gold) installed are:
  • Game ROM U6, revision LX3 (on MPU board)
  • Sound ROM U15, revision L-1 (on MPU board)
  • Sound ROM U18, revision L-1 (on MPU board)

So to go backwards i would read from that you need to burn a standard TAF Game Rom AND standard U18 Sound chip, and possibly remove U15?? :)

Thanks Paul I just need to figure out what devices to use? I have plenty old pinball roms but it will need to be the right one's

Thanks Ronnie

H-4 is the recommended game rom but what sound version goes with that? L-1 ?

Thanks Ronnie

Thanks Paul, so many versions! it's confusing! so L-1 is the sound rom so that will work with whatever game game rom?

Sorry for all the questions, it's just the pin is not here and I only want to do it once correctly

Cheers Ronnie
