TAF chair scoop weldment question

Hi all,
I'm finding it really difficult to get the ball to go into the chair scoop (and it's not my flipper skills before you all start;)). More often than not, the ball just rattles around and then flies out at speed.
I've noticed that the welds at the top of the chair scoop are broken so the top of the scoop is loose. Is this known to affect the way that the ball goes into the scoop? If it is, I'll buy a new one and replace it. If not, I'll have to get used to low scores.
Thanks

Has it got a cliffy protector on the scoop hole? Are the rubber posts the correct size or have they been replaced with bigger ones to make the shot harder? Is it the same behaviour whether you forehand or backhand the shot?
