There seems to be a lot of machines coming up for sale at the moment? Thought I'd try a long shot, I've got a growing ambition to own a TAF (the Addams family) pinball, everyone always says there's lots about, but they seldom come up for sale and when they do they all command too much money for me to entertain, it really doesn't have to be a minter, and I'd say probably won't be! I would probably prefer a project?
If anyone has one or knows of one please drop me a message.
Thanks Tony

Alot of machines for sale at the minute... looks like its turning into a buyers market

You don't ask you don't get mate. There have been a few wanted ads lately I've sniggered at, thinking, no chance mate, only to see in the next comment. Yeah I've got one!!

There was a project available on eBay last month that was missing it's cloud topper and needed a few small bits and bobs doing to it - but it worked. He was asking £2500 cash in the description. I'm pretty sure it didn't sell so will most likely pop up again soon. I'll keep an eye out. There were loads of TAF machines going up for sale just before Christmas (that's when I got mine) I literally seen about 10 different machines go up for sale between eBay and the forums.

I think I remember yours coming up, it's a "Thing" of beauty!
I'd recommend T2 I really enjoyed owning mine.
It's normally the first thing a brand "newbie" asks for the TAF, but it's an itch that I'd like to scratch one day.
I do enjoy a project but chances of finding a project TAF at good money probably like winning the lottery, but I've got me euro millions ticket for tonight!!

Just noticed who the cheques made out too!!!!!
Belated congratulations? Or great photo shop skills!!!
Is that how you managed to afford yours????
We all live in hope.

Nice one strongs that must have been a realllll nice feeling winning that !!
this is my 1st post been lurking for a few weeks and doing a lot of reading so hello firstly.
the addams that was on ebay a couple of weeks ago did sell i know cause i bought it :) Its was rather tired but its looking quite nice now after spending nearly £500 on it (so far!)
As you say tony i was looking for a good while before that one popped up at the right money got it for £2300 in the end but i think that was very cheap for a TAF even a tired one!
Good luck in your search mate im still on the look out for pins so if anything pops up while looking will pm you

Hello Justin,
Congrats on the TAF, are you enjoying it? Sometime those pins can require a big injection of time & money, but do look fab when finished!

Thanks Tony
Id like to say yes i'm enjoying it but it would be a lie its still a project at the minute. although in all fairness i am enjoying sorting it all out if the truth be known
it was unplayable really the shooter rod had no sleeve so the ball landed in the thing hole every time. The upper left flipper was stuck on, the fliptronics board looks like a madman has had a go with a soldering iron :) silver paper round a couple of fuses the list goes on haha
but the cab and playfield were in decent nic so thought what the hell something to do huh
like i say mate will keep a lookout for you

Thanks for the heads up ronnie,
The feeding frenzy that is eBay has begun!!!! I've contacted the seller and he's after 3k-3.5k, which maybe about right?, it looks in good condition?, but I'm no expert! But unfortunately that puts it way out of my reach, I know there's truth in buying a good one, and "hopefully" not chucking a load of money at a bad one, but it will have to remain illusive for the time being.

He'll be lucky to get 3k for it. I'm no expert and I can see that the cab has wear to it (especially the front where it's scratched and sun faded) The mansion windows look worn too.

Even the most knackered TAF fetches £2.5K these days, just seems to be where that game has found it's level. I've seen a lot worse go for more cash than the £2495 than this is currently at. If you want an Addams then it's going to cost you, there's no getting away from that in the current market :(

I'm contemplating selling my TAF. It's got a brand new manny cabinet & backbox and is just about to go to Darrens to have a "new" playfield fitted. Which is actually an old playfield totally restored to as new condition and clear coated. It's un modded apart from LEDs. When completed I may sell, looking for about £6500 as it will be totally mint. All boards perfect as is dmd. No errors and plays like new. Would consider p/x. If anyone is interested I can post as many pics as you like of whatever you like when new playfield is in. Only posting the one now due to time restrictions and will have to pull it out to photo all sides. The original playfield will also be up for sale after. Very good mansion, slight magnet burn on right hand side of cloud and slight plank up near cousin it.

Jon yours sounds fantastic, it's just the £6500 I'm struggling with?..........
Maybe I could approach it in a different way?......,,,,,
How much would your old playfield be? Do you think it would be possible to assemble one from other peoples bits?
Would probably be the ultimate project? Could be an interesting read shop/log? But would take forever!

Thanks for coming back to me Jon, yep I would be interested in your playfield, any chance of first dibs? I see your in Nottingham not far from me so collection should be ok.
This just might happen? Possibly first part secured estimate 1999 to go!

@Tony don't do it man, you will never get all the bits to populate a bare naked playfield.
people only buy a playfield to replace one they already have. i'm sure Jon won't mind me scuppering his potential sale, as this would be a disastrous move
i promise you.

Thanks for your comments, much appreciated, your probably right of course, but even if it never got off the ground, it might look nice on the office wall, and may spur me on to turn some projects around!

Damn you @cooldan ! I was going to retire on that £200 ;) No seriously, Dans totally right. It's just not worth the hassle.
You are of course welcome to first refusal if you want to stick on the wall or get it restored.

All comments more than welcomed, I suppose what I'd really like is a char project TAF, but I don't believe such a thing exists?
Can I have a think? Please give me a shout when yours is available, it would look nice on the wall through!

I've contacted Tobin, yes I know what everyone says? He's looking for £2500 which is still a lot of money! yes I know that it will probably never happen! i think it will have to stay on the wish list, but thanks for thinking of me.

Depends if you'd enjoy the fixup. 2500 isn't that bad for a ropey Addams, if I was you I'd get @Sgt GrizZ or @Will to go have a close look and tell you what it needs and what that costs. If you can get it shipshape for under 3K and don't mind getting your hands dirty then pull that trigger
