it's the stuff of nightmares!

I do some investigation into a sloppy upper left flipper which turns out to the flipper board opto. In the process of this fault finding i blow a flipper fuse. So i switch off, change the fuse and switch on again only to be confronted by a crazy DMD, odd playfield resetting behaviour & a broken machine!

I've since managed to get it working again by reseating all the connectors and giving it a good check over...

But i'd love to know what causes this effect, mainly because it's horrible and i never want to see it again!

any ideas???

You probably disturbed the ribbon cable from the CPU when moving it to access the flipper fuses, which are handily hidden behind it.
