*UPDATE - After testing I think the issues is the output of LED Board 9A (520-7053-00).*

Has anyone had one of these pack up? I think it coincided with my Node Board 9 packing up the other week.

It's the only one of its kind on the game so can't swap with another to test.

It does seem related to Node Board 9, so maybe the LED board 'blew' Node Board 9 when it packed up, or maybe when I plugged the cables back into the replacement Node Board something isn't quite right.

I've done some testing. Even though there isn't another 9B LED board, I can use the other smaller LED boards/cables to test with.

Swapped cable from faulty 9B LED to a working LED board - cable is fine.

Plugged faulty 9B LED into a known working output - worked fine.

Plugged a working LED board in place of faulty 9B LED - Didn't work.

Node Board 9 has a cable going to the input of 9A LED. The output of 9A LED goes to the input of 9B LED.

It seems 9B LED is actually fine, the issue seems is it isn't receiving power/comms from 9A LED. Is there any other testing I can do to prove this?

Could the issue be Node Board 9? I've got a Node Board 9 on order, but it is back ordered. I'm reluctant to swap over the other Node Board in the machine as they aren't the most robust of things

These LED boards are wired in a chain. Changing the order of the boards along the chain might cause the wrong lamp patterns to be displayed but should provide a way to isolate the failing component (cable or board).

When you say "swapped cable" what did you change exactly?

Sounds like the issue might be with 9A output?

I used the cable that was attached to faulty 9B on another LED board and it worked.

I think I agree. By moving things around I know the cable is fine, and 9B (which I thought was faulty) is fine. That leaves the output of 9A which doesn't work with 2 different LED boards I've tried.

The issue started (I think) after I replaced faulty Node Board 8.

I guess I'll have to start with buying a 9A LED board (520-7053-00). Seems like only Star Wars uses it, which isn't great.

I think these A/B/C LED boards are game specific. They're also not very complicated.

Check that the voltage output (between GND and VCC) on the output to 9A - if that shows something plausible (5V or 6V - can't remember) then it's a signal issue.
