I bought this from @steve brum as a project to fully restore. Original sales thread here https://www.pinballinfo.com/community/threads/classic-stern-galaxy-£1650.55429/
I then bought a new CPR mirror backglass and playfield with the plan to get it fully restored and at the same time put the dual boot 2021 code info can be found here https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/galaxy-2021-new-code-for-stern-galaxy-1980
However after arranging to get it restored I was offered Keef’s @new forest pinball super nice Flash Gordon so the deal was done and restore money well and truly spent. I only intend to have one 80’s classic in my lineup hence this sale.
Since taking ownership I have made a full set of my plastic protectors in acid green, added some LED in the GI to give them some pop as well as sorting a few bulbs and fitting the correct spinner which Keef tells me is quite rare.
I would like to try and get my money back so ideally would prefer the buyer to take everything but will consider splitting them should push come to shove. I have therefore priced it at the following:
Stern Galaxy as is £1600 which includes my work so far on plastics, LEDs and new spinner.
Backglass £300
Playfield £650 I think these are now out of stock and probably twice the price now.
Total package for all 3 £2500 obo
I do have 3 people interested already so it may go while i’m at pinfest but LMK if you wanna discuss over a non alco beer or two. When you get to play please bear in mind it will have outage posts removed and possibly put on 3 ball game so you will probably find it quite brutal and dont tickle it too much as the tilt is tight.
All in all I think it will make a great restore as it’s quite rare and with the 2021 code and music will be a great addition should you want to go that way. Condition wise it needs re stencilling as someone gave it a super black all over makeover which basically looks crap.
The plus points are
all new altek displays and board
new transformer board thingie
fully working and checked boards
My super nice Blingie plastics
Give it a whirl regardless ans LMK what you think.
