Stern Dmd in Bally/Williams?

Just wondering if this is possible? I've ordered a colourdmd for my walking dead and was wondering if I could use this display in my BSD as the red would look great, I see some mention an adapter for power?

In a nutshell No !
The latter stern’s displays are only 5volts , think they changed the voltage to 5v around 2007 or 2008

Yes you can. But you need to fit a 5v 5a switch mode power supply.
Fitted one two days ago in a data east.

Just take an additional L N and ground from the mains switch box and put the psu near it screwed down.

Then run with 1.0mm flex the 5v up to display.

Just a matter of adding a power supply, I did see a connector for taking 5v/GND from the old power connector but iam guessing it doesn't have enough oommph I'll give it a go

Isn't BSD red already ? Has a red filter in front of the DMD doesn't it

It does but I'd say red is a stretch the filter is probably worn out as it looks a big orangy, twd looks a lot redder and sharper

Fair enough. I just recall my BSD def looking red

Yeah I could probably just replace the filter but while I have the spare I might aswel try, plan on pin2dmd at some stage should they ever become available again

It wont work on the existing 5v mate.

Just add a PSU.

It works no issue.

It will also make your DMD controller board last longer, just remove the power in terminal from the transformer. Or just remove the 2 connectors on the bottom of the DMD board.
