Machine is complete, but there is a problem on the rectifier board. It's blowing a fuse and two test point voltages are down. It does have a replacement new Alltek board fitted. There is a small area of paint off the backglass in the corner. Legs are rough so could use replacements. Sold as is. £275 including shipping (mainland UK only exc Highlands).

I thought you disliked Stern machines Luke ;)

Nice buy mind, look forward to the resto series on it

I was tempted... but glad Luke has bagged it as he's so super keen and his vids will be excellent!

And from what I can tell he's got more space than me! My 3-pin man-cave is at full capacity.

It's a very interesting looking pin. Stern M-200 that it very similar to the old Bally boards. Will make a great research project.

It's a nice game, with one little design flaw; the lane up the left side of the playfield, intended to allow access to the bumper area. It's not an easy shot to make cleanly enough to get right through, but in fact that's an advantage, since the rollover wire form is placed about half-way up, not right under the gate at the top (as on, say, Eight Ball Deluxe). Most shots up the lane reach the rollover, which spots a number in the 1-5 sequence, then fall back, spotting another, and usually land on the l/h inner rollover lane, spotting a third (and possibly collecting the sequence Extra Ball). If the side lane's lit for Collect Bonus, I think that's counted twice as well (and bonus value can be 100K).

The Mpu-200 board has some features added;

  • 1. The book-keeping totals can be cleared using a dedicated switch on the coin door, rather than one of the coin switches as on Bally games.
  • 2. An external 'Reset' facility is provided for. Grounding J4 pin 13 stops the program, with the l.e.d. remaining lit, and (according to my notes) places all data & address lines at 'High'. It re-tests when the ground is removed. It's not actually wired, and I don't suppose it would've been used much if it had.
  • 3. The software for games on this board usually has each solenoid 'test' number tally with the transistor 'Q' number used on the Solenoid Driver board.
  • 4. Games using the 200 board automatically* enter the 'Burn-In' test if they boot up with all the option switches 1 to 32 read as Off.
  • 5. Space for an alternative back-up battery, the 'block' type used by Gottlieb.
  • 6. Can be down-graded to serve as an Mpu-100, by changing jumpers to alter the clock speed.

* Of the earlier games on the '100' board, Wild Fyre (& Dracula) have something like this, but it occurs after passing through all the regular test/auditing functions.
