Hi all,

I'm after giving my Getaway pin a good spit and polish, so....
What's the best stuff to get?
Is there a pack that'll have everything there? I'm goign to treat it to new rubbers, shiny balls, etc.
I'm just wondering what is the best cleaner and polish to get? Preferably cheap as possible as I'm a tight git! Obviously I want to do it right though 👅

Any good links to stuff on ebay etc

TIA

- Ben :biggrin1:

I agree two coats of the gerlitz wax after the clean down works really well, thanks to mr ronsplooter for that tip a while back:)

Maybe depends on how dirty it is, but I've used soapy water (washing up liquid) and it worked fine too. So did windowlene. And even saliva, but I'd struggle to generate enough to clean an entire table in one go. :)

Cheers guys,
I've ordered the wax so far. Still not sure on the novus 2 as I had someone tell me it scratched the play field? Is that true or botox?

Novus 2 is a mild abrasive, it's used for polishing plastics, but tbh it can be used for cleaning and polishing just about anything on a pinball machine. It would be the first thing I'd buy out of the three things I listed. No pin owner should be without it :thumb:

already got my foam cleaner, novus 1,2,3, guitar wax and micro fibre clothes ready lol yeah im prepared

WTF ???? Novus 2 is the GO TO cleaning/polishing product for pinball. Has been for years.
Can't remember who told me now but, they said it was too abrasive and said another one that was better. Can't remember who and what though?
If the majority say novus 2 then that's good enough for me :)

Cheers again everyone for the help/info :)

Well yesterday was the day as I wasn't sure when I'd get a chance again. I emptied the 'arcade' room.... Spy Hunter (arcade cab) is still at the top of the stairs, I moved my Getaway round so I could get the glass out. As I didn't have any Novus 2 I thought I'd try something else... One of those magic eraser sponge things (JML special!)... I cut a slice of it and tried it in a hidden area so if it was rubbish it wouldn't be noticed. It did a great job :) So I went on to do the whole playfield then waxed it all. Feck me the ball is going that fast its quicker than Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards down hill! Thanks for the help and advise guys. I will get some Novus 2 but the magic sponge did a great job as a temp solution.

Cheers again :)

That's what we like to hear :) you have to be really careful wi the magic erasers as they can be too abrasive, however it sounds like you used the gently gently approach - good to hear it's now hoofing along and nicely waxed!!!

Yep I was a soft as Andrex! I had a 'test' this morning before moving onto my arcade cab stuff :) Found loads of jamma pcbs I'd either forgot about or don't remember getting. Been 'testing' those most of today :D
I wasn't enjoying this Spring Clean but I'm now getting into it :confused1:
