Previously sold here by Chris last week. Yes I know... and yes Ive spoke with him about this before posting and about re-list cost

We are simply not gelling with it, even if it is top 28th game in the world - Ive re built the flippers, repaired a pop bumper and cleaned up as much of the playfield surface as possible. Also 4 new balls fitted. Ive ordered 3 new pop bumper bodies too but thanks to Royal Mail I still don't have them

Chris supplied it with 4 new legs

Also a machine that I had asked for has come up so everything points in one direction. And yes Im learning the hard way - figured now instead of in Jan would be better for all parties to sell

£3500 - I am happy to help as I have a van if your near me, and if you not near but not to far I could also help with that too but prob best to discuss first

West London I am

Sounds like you spent the whole week fixing it not playing it :D
did it in one evening - and suffered for it the next day as was my turn to get up early with the squids. Ugh.
I’m learning that the revisit and subsequent visits denote whether i’m into it or not.

I didn’t realise your in London I’d be defo going pinball republic and Medway club should get a real feel for what you like with them two places , if you’d of been up north you’d be welcome to come try mine … I’ve a couple

Yep, Pinball Republic, Medway Pinball Club, Chief Coffee, Shepherd's Bush Brewdog, Gravity in Wandsworth, and The Pinball Office is a short train ride away. Between those, you can probably comfortably play around 100 different pins.

Thanks guys, yes i’ve been to most of them. Just purchased in haste - I’d keep it for longer but now seems better time to sell than jan or feb.

Without wanting to derail your thread, your gut reaction on the first few plays is usually right. If you love it straight off then buy, not sure? Give it another 2-3 plays. Longevity is another factor, you may love it but it may not have the lasting appeal if you find it too simple or too shallow a ruleset. Me, I'm a poor player so I don't need it to be deep!

If I find myself saying, "I'm firing this up for half an hour" just for the fun of playing then that's all I need. Get something you can play on location you keep coming back to. If you've space for 2-3 for variety then all the better. The rest of the world may love it but if you don't then it doesn't mean you're wrong.

Thanks Dex. I also have whirlwind which has been my learning curve. The above has happened with that. I’ve set myself timers and targets etc and am slowly getting there. I did have a similar thought to get rid but it wasent absolute like with Spider-man. I do find also that this older williams game feels smoother and kinda bigger in the play field.

Also had some pms about my post and explained a few things which has been helpful. So price adjusted
Thanks for the responses - Hopefully soon i’ll be on track here

All games can play slightly differently. Spiderman in m book has probably ones of the best playfields in pinball. Team up a new set of speakers with an amp and it will make a big difference. Those buttery smooth middle ramps are unique to this game!

Hey, don’t force it :)

I don’t like Spider-Man either. I find fan layouts pretty boring in most cases :) The big thing is not to keep owning stuff you don’t like - I spent WAYYYY too long trying to like Lord of the Rings and, you know, I don’t miss it at all. So, if it doesn’t click, best to pass it on :)

Read a lot about spider-man being one of the best games. The calls outs the best. And they are but …. just done 30 mins on spidey, then 1 game on whirlwind. Opinion not changed
Personally i found CSI amazing ( for comparison ) and blew 10£ at Retro Dave’s arcade on it the other month without a wee break! got my name on the 4th place rostrum…

Simpsons, love it. Godzilla, unputdownable, cc, again so much fun, yet eathershaker was a no, the monsterbash also no, star trek ( one with the moving guns ) no and whitewater just too god damn hard.

Total Annihilation brilliant

People just see things differently

I spent weeks trying to trade my TMNT pro for a Maiden pro 😂

I fell in to the same trap. I got LOTR (based on it's pinside ranking). Didn't enjoy it at all. I had Iron Maiden for a few weeks...didn't like that either. In part because of the theme, so swopped it for a TNMT which I'm really enjoying.

It's all so personal.

You'll never persuade anyone to like a pin they don't click with anymore than you'll be able to change their opinion on their least favourite food or band.

As for Spiderman . . . . . The first three times I played it I wasn't really sure what all the fuss was about. However I played it last week at Medway and really got the shots dialed in. It's certainly a game I look forward to learning at some point in the future.

Hi Jason, i didn’t forget about your post but the original sale didn’t fall through so all is good. Hope you do find one mate

Also to note that given the time it was listed till it was collected today it was given a lot of play time but my option hasent changed and i got a good game in with a series of continuous loops and ramps and hectic call outs.
Case closed. Onto the next one
