The next Special When Lit Social Meet will be on Saturday 4th June. It will incorporate the final round of the league at Special When Lit.

Special When Lit will be open from 1pm and all machines will be available for freeplay and league practice. The league competition will start at 2pm. Everyone can play until the league starts at 2pm, anyone not wishing to play in the league can use the remaining tables whilst the league plays on a randomly selected machines. We hope that the league games will finish around 5pm and we normally shut around 6pm. Games change on an ad hoc basis and are subject to serviceability and change.

There is a change to the league format to stay in-line with the way ranking points are obtained. The league will now be head to head matches only. The aim is for 9 rounds of head to head play. Seeding will be random then after the first round and for all remaining rounds it will be all previous rounds results seeded so that best performers are matched with each other.

We hope to have the following machines available to play:

Attack From Mars
Avatar
Black Knight
Catcus Canyon Continued
Genesis
Medieval Madness
Metallica Master Of The Puppets LE
Monster Bash
NBA Fastbreak
Pink Panther
Scared Stiff
Space Hawks
Spirit
Terminator 2
The Amazing Spider-man
The Getaway: High Speed 2
The Simpsons Pinball Party
Theatre Of Magic
Transformers Combo LE
Tron:Legacy
Twilight Zone (3rd Magnet Installed)
Whitewater

Address: Unit 5, Loyal Trade Business Park, Stephenson Road, Salisbury SP2 7NS.

The usual nibbles, tea, coffee and water are free of charge. Any items from the large fridge must be paid for - eg. cans of fizzy drink and chocolate, etc.

These are not for profit events for supporters of Special When Lit that help raise funds to keep Special When Lit open.

If you've never been to an event please note that everyone is welcome! We don't bite... Honest!

Just to add - anyone can play in any number of local leagues, there are no longer any restrictions in participating (other than cost and distance to the location). :)

Bump for this, I'm particularly looking forward to my first play on The Amazing Spiderman tomorrow, have been admiring it on recent visits.

It's playable but I need to swap the lower left flipper coil as it's fluttering, so it's not suitable for league play just yet.

Everyone can thank Moira for banning the newly arrived LE from the house , so you get to play it this weekend...!!!

More a case of no room in the house at the moment rather than banning it because she didn't like it...

It is of the Marvel comic book persuasion.

Thanks for organising it all Peter/Moira/Hilary and, as ever, the great hospitality!
Ditto here, I really enjoy the new 1v1 play format and the fact that the games are so close for a lot of us.

Question. I watch you guys nudge and I notice that some of the machines seem 'wobbly' which helps this. How is this setup - the leg bolts loosened off a bit?
Finally, extra thanks for looking at my DMD will report back separately :clap::clap:

Ha, ha, no. The legs are not loosened off but you are right some machines do wobble a bit more than others.

Liked I said before, 1v1s function very well. My favourite match I had was definitely with Punk Stig on Theatre of Magic (not because I won!) because a bunch of crazy stuff happened. We had plenty of Full Throttle-esque airballs. I suffered a phantom tilt. It was pretty crazy.

Should we go further and adopt Smash Bros-style rulings like having Best of 3 (First to 2) matches and stage banning? This 1v1 concept can most likely go further because it was a lot of fun.
